What happens when I submit a request?
Bespoke Wood Studio (BWS) will work to find a mutually agreeable date to meet and explore the possibility of the piece that you are wanting to create. Initial appointments can happen via phone with follow ups in person unless distance is a barrier.
Do you require a deposit before you start the work?
All orders not exceeding $500 must be paid for in full upon placing the order. For orders over $500, a 50% deposit is required before work begins with balance due when item is complete. Deposits are non-refundable as they are used to secure the materials for the project. If project is cancelled within one week of beginning the work, 50% of the deposit can be returned.
When do you require final payment?
Final payment is due upon completion and pieces will be delivered at that time.
How do you accept payments?
Payments are accepted via cash, credit card, PayPal and Venmo. 3.5% is added in for all credit card payments.
How long does it take to get a custom order?
That is dependent on your order. Custom orders vary due to current demand, size and complexity. Smaller items make take a couple of weeks while larger pieces could take several months. You will have reasonable expectations after you final meeting to confirm the details of your piece. Pieces are crafted in the order received.
Can I return my custom order?
Due to the nature of custom work, there are no returns as custom orders are made specifically for a client. Repairs are always offered if needed for any minor defects or damages.
What does your design process look like?
The process begins with a conversation. Through pictures, descriptions and your ideas, I am able to help co-create the piece you imagine. I am gifted to envision so much of what you want in my head. I will hand draw out a scaled design of your specific piece. All drawings, calculations and design information provided by Bespoke Wood Studio shall remain the property of BWS and may not be copied or used by any third party.
What materials do you use? \
I have worked with a variety of species and most hardwoods. My preference is domestic hardwoods. I have also created pieces entirely from reclaimed materials and palettes. The finish often used is a Madoff inspired proprietary blend developed by Bespoke Wood Studio. It is a mixture of tung oil, boiled linseed oil and beeswax.
Will you deliver my finished piece? Do you have added delivery fees? What areas do you service?
Deliveries within 30 miles of the Bespoke Wood Studio will be provided. Delivery is to curbside and additional fees may apply for in home delivery. Deliveries will not be made to unattended residences. Deliveries outside a 30 mile radius will need to be paid for by the customer with a provided receipt for all packing and shipping charges. Smaller pieces for sale on site do not include shipping costs.
